In pursuit of this mission, we have, together with the Irvine Ranch Conservancy, established a series of events collectively known as, The 2008 Heritage Art Exhibition. This Exhibition consists of the following activities:

The Irvine Ranch Historical Park Open House and Paint-Off / Art Auction:

The Irvine Ranch Historic Park contains a unique assemblage of buildings reflecting the history of The Irvine Ranch. The park site includes the Ranch's headquarters building, the James Irvine II Home, which houses the Katie Wheeler Branch Library of the Orange County Public Library, and numerous barns and other residential buildings. The goal of this event is to engage a broad cross section of Southern Californians in the history of Orange County through visiting the park and observing the creation of Plein Air paintings by renowned artists on site.

The Heritage Gala and Art Exhibition / Sale at The Oaks:

An outdoor, evening gala and exhibition of California Plein Air art inspired by breathtaking locations in the wildlands, parks and surrounding areas in Orange and San Diego Counties. The goal of this event is to make people aware not only of the beauty and quality of these contemporary paintings, but also to make people aware of how much of our fragile California environment we will lose if we do not protect and preserve the cultural, historical and natural resources of this beautiful state.
